It's All About the Program

We all know the key to anything in scouting is the program and lots of FUN.   Scouts entering into Kindergarten will start their experience in the Lion program with their own adventure designed program and awards by National Scouts BSA.  Lion scouts should look to complete at least 1 program adventure per month and participate with all planned Pack activities through the planned scout year.

Scouts (2nd through 4th grade) who are in Tigers, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos will participate within scout program themes by the use of grade level den groups throughout the year.  The themes we typically use are as follows: Planes & Boats, Hiking, Building Stuff, Duty to God, Citizenship, Personal Fitness, Scout Skills: First Aid, Compass, & knife, and Outdoor skills. The Arrow of Light (5th grade) program will run a bit more independently.  This will provide those scouts with more transitional opportunities with the boy scout troop as they work towards earning their Arrow of Light award.

Scouts will also receive a new handbook with their paid dues for each current scout year.  We like to see all our Scouts have their handbook with them each week to support keeping track of their own advancement.  Den (Grade) level advancement tracker forms will also support scouts and parents with advancement progress.  When looking for information about your scout's program, we highly suggest starting with your scout's handbook.
